When to Call it Quits
One of the most common problems that poker players run into is that they do not know when to call it quits. The fact of the matter is that most poker players are stubborn enough to think that they can win every hand. And while there is nothing wrong with being confident, you need to make sure that you do not take this feeling too far. If you do you may find out sooner rather than later that your over confidence is killing the way that you play. So with all of that in mind, it is very important that you learn when to call it quits during a game of poker. This may sound easy enough, but when you are actually sitting at the table down a couple hundred bucks this can be hard to do. Luckily, there are a few ways that you can learn to quit if you are really interested in putting your mind to it.

First off, you need to know when to call it quits. There are two distinct times when this will matter. Generally speaking, you will need to be able to walk away in either one of these situations. The first one is when you are not on your game, and you are simply losing time and time again. If you find yourself in this position your best bet is to walk away from the table, or simply sign out of your online account. Sure, you will want to stick around to try to win your money back. But when you think about it, is this really a good idea? When it comes down to it being able to walk away today when you are losing means that you will have more money to play in the future.
The other time when you may want to walk away from the poker table is if you are raking in the cash, and it seems that you cannot lose no matter what you are doing. If you have ever been in one of these zones you know just what it can feel like. You are doing everything right, and it feels like no matter what you bet you will come out on top a winner. While this is a great feeling to have, it does not help you out one bit if you blow your money due to over confidence. When you are winning it is so easy to think that you are unstoppable. But if you start to think this way there is a good chance that this will eventually lead to your demise. Why not just walk away with your profits in your back pocket?
Overall, you need to know when you should quit when playing the game of poker. If you are so stubborn that you keep playing when you should not you are only going to get yourself in trouble. You will either begin to lose more money and dig a deeper hole, or you may lose all of the money that you have previously won. There is a fine line between staying at the table, and knowing when to walk away for the day. When you learn about when you should and should not walk away you will notice that your earnings begin to increase!
